Very helpful tutorial; I only had to try it 3 times to get it right and it still isn't perfect, but next time I thin will be the one!
I kept Carroll Ann's card shape, use of flowers, and her focus on hope, but pretty much changed the rest. This is a masculine sympathy card - another person at work lost a loved one. This is for David who is the sweetest man - he helps all the ladies at work when their tires are flat, or their car won't start, or they run out of gas. We call him the parking lot angel. He also sends a Good Morning message to everyone at work every morning - he sends each one individually and arrives early so he can do it. He lost an Aunt that he was very close too. He actually pretends he likes my cards when I bring them to work so I had to make him something special.
I paper-pieced my bird having him break out of the oval - I hope that counts. I had intended to layer on his wings but totally forgot.

This is gorgeous! I love those rich colors and how you have the bird coming out of the oval is so unique. The flowers are so pretty and I like the shape. Wonderful card and oh your friend is going to feel so special. To me that's what it's all about. He sounds like a jewel and you are giving him a little shine.

Love your beautiful card, Nancy. I love the colors that you chose for you widdle birdie. He looks like he is just going to fly off your card. I was afraid he would hit the computer screen trying to get out and injure himself. David will love this card. Thanks for joining us in the TSC.
