This card is for the IC this week, Kirkland's; a great website, I've been to the actual store many times!
I was inspired by this painting "Spiced Canvas Sunset" It is the perfect background for a card I wanted to make today. My cousin, who I was very close to when I was growing up, has been admitted to a mental hospital suffering from bi-polar disease and is in a severe and dangerous depression. Her doctors are closely monitoring her and changing her meds daily to try to help her. She's an incredibly gifted writer, poet, and humanitarian and my heart is praying for her recovery. I hope you will too! Her name is Demetria, and there's a link on my blog if you'd like to read her biography and take a peek at some of her work.
The background was quick and easy to achieve. All I did was swipe "Autumn Leaves' Kaleidescope ink pad lightly across glossy cardstock. I embellished it with a couple of eyelets and stamped the image and sentiment.

What a beautiful inspired card for your cousin Anne! I'm sure she will appreciate your thoughts and caring conveyed through it - I will keep her in my prayers.

This is definitely a piece of art and I'm sure your cousin will find it so too! Rather symbolic too, with the darkness invading the bright and light colors. May her darkness be overcome by light! I will pray for her!

I am sorry to hear about your cousin - this illness has affected some in my family and it can be very difficult at times. I wish you all the best. Your card is stunning - wonderful background effect!!! I was just looking at my kaleidescope pads wondering when I'd ever use them - I hope to try this soon.
