Hi! This card was made for today's Inspiration Challenge: Miyuki Sakai, an artist who uses her sewing machine to create scenes. Her stuff is AMAZING! I had a bit of trouble with her website and was not able to scroll down for some reason. However, I found THIS TREE in her collection that really inspired me to create this card today.
The scene, and believe me, it about killed me to keep this monochromatic, took about 13 minutes to create.
I used this naked tree from A Walk in the Woods. I cut the focal image to 3 " x 4 1/2" and then tore a piece of scrap paper that was 5" long to use as a mask. I placed the mask across the bottom 1/3 of the card and stamped the focal tree in Adirondack's Espresso. Next, I sponged in Espresso along the edge of the scrap to create snow drifts. I moved the scrap ABOVE the 1/2 point and stamped in the same tree twice, moving it down the scrap to make a shorter tree. I made several more snow banks and then placed the scrap down to form a mask for the sun. I placed a hole punched scrap on top of the other scrap so that part of the circle was masked off and sponged in the Adirondack Espresso for the outline of the sun.
I added in the layer with Inkssentials dots and a sheer ribbon with a charm.
Finished card size: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
Total time to create: less than 17 minutes.

This card is so lovely! Your sponging is so beautifully done and using that brown colour gives it such a dreamy effect. I also love the embellishment with the ribbon.

This is absolutely awesome!!! I was going to use the tree, but saw this and knew I couldn't do it the justice you did. You have outdone yourself with one single image, Faith! Brilliant!
