what a delightful choice for the Featured Stamper, Beth. I had long admired Mercy's art. After going all the way back to her first upload, this one grabbed me. I played off the layout and the hues, changed the stamps (kept a scripture, though) and the papers.
This card is also for His Holy Name 09 challenge. LORD was the name we studied. My format is 6x6 pages. I used Basic Grey paper for my background, a grey from Scarlet's Letter. I stamped the marble paper (Stamp Francisco) in Memento London Fog down the right side. There is faux stitching (StarvingArtistamps). I used a K&CO key to conceal a pocket I made for personal journaling. I used a bit of scalloped vintage trim for the pull, placing AMuse 'Shalom' on top with Memento Paris Blue. My YAHWEH letters are from Fontwerks. I stamped them on grey cs with Nick Bantock's chrome yellow and embossed with clear. They were cut and placed over a multicolor ribbon, attaching them with metallic staples. I like the way the eye has to pause at each letter.
The scripture I chose to meditate upon these two weeks is Psalm 16:2. I said to the Lord, "thou art my Adonai. I have no good besides Thee." This was printed in PSE6 and sponged and stippled with various chalkbox inks. The wonderful frame is from Purple Onion Designs. I stamped it on GP white and stippled TH di scattered straw ink onto the frame. It has tiny little brass screw brads (Karen Foster). It is popped on foam squares so I could slip another small ticket underneath for more journaling. The leaves are a die-cut from K&CO that was UTEE'ed. I added a bit of bronze German scrap foil, this pulls out for reading. Finishing off is the date (Autumn Leaves).
Thanks for the inspiration, Mercy... I like your style. Enjoy this day that celebrates your art! Thanks for commenting and visiting...have a wonderful Memorial Day. I am so thankful for the contributions of our military service lives. We must never forget.

This is wonderful, Susan! I love the way you put your touch on things. The metal embellishments are balanced so well by the soft colors and delicate marbled paper. Really super!
