I have been traveling lately, not in a position where I can even work on watercolor, so here is last week's forest landscape bauble. I think I love Harriet deWinton's videos the most; so clear, so encouraging. I also used yesterday's sketch, which was perfect for me.
I traced a circle and pretty much followed her tutorial. I have been using some watercolors straight from the tube and it got a little out of hand....very dark but I like it. I managed to leave some room for the trees and I think this is the first time I've done trees where I like the result. I erased the pencil mark at the bottom but then decided I didn't like the lack of definition so added just a little graphite. I used metallic watercolors for some little dots of stars...there is a little purple in the watercolors besides the blue and Payne's gray. I don't think I have the blue she used so subbed another. I used a silver pen on the dark gray for some definition. My brain is fried so I couldn't manage a sentiment.
Thanks for the challenges and I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and happy 2024. I'm traveling again for the next few days, feel like a nomad.

Ms Nomad, I like your ornament and, yes, the trees look good. The framing is so pretty, too. Merry Christmas.

Your stars look Perfect in the nighttime sky! Very pretty winter scene. Wonderful trees and snowy ground. So you are living out of suitcases lately...I know the feeling~
