It will be National Ice Tea Day on June 10th and I needed a masculine card for this amusing occasion. I went back in time to an older sketch challenge; there are times when they come in handy to get the creative juices flowing! I turned the sketch on its side to work for my image.
First, I heat embossed the image on Shimmery White CS, and then colored it with ink & a blender pen. I used Daffodil Delight ink on the lemons, and used So Saffron CS for the base to help the lemons look more lemony & not just match the paper. Then I applied Crystal Effects to the ice cubes, and lemon slices to give them a "wet" look. It looks shiny, which I'm sorry is not captured very well in the photo.
As per the sketch, I rounded two opposite corners and put a strip at the top. I promptly tore the paper, so three candy dots cover that up. I love how we can "fix" things with embellishments. I also rounded the same corners on the image layer.
After making this, I realized that I can link this for the Alphabet Challenge - this week it's time for Letter T. I have: Tall glass of Tea, Tempting Turquoise, and Tangerine Tango. It was a fun card to make and it makes me want a tall, refreshing glass of ice tea.
Thanks for taking the time to look.

Perfect Tall Tea for the T challenge! Timeless... You know that covering up torn paper with candy dots. That is how a lot of my cards evolve, covering up something! LOL Your card is very nice, and now I want some tea!

So lovely. I wish I had some iced tea right now.
What does one do when one arrives in a strange city, drives a strange car out of the airport and the route to the hotel is closed and under construction. Thank the Lord for GPS. And my room really surprised me .......it's a suite, with a kitchenette. Well, I am two time zones west of home, so it's high time I went to bed. No card making for me this week.

Iced tea? Yes, please. This is a great card for the "T" challenge. Love your idea of using crystal effects for the ice cubes. I have it but have never used it, lol. (yet)
