after almost 100 photographs in every conceivable setting, lighting and angle, i give up. this is the only decent photo in which you can see both the texture of the faux silk and a hint of the gold writing on the red panel. all three panels are done in the faux silk techinque. i didn't have any red tissue paper so the red panel is white tissue paper applied to red cs then pressed into a red ink pad. after it dried i stamped it with oriental writing using gold pigment ink. then i stuck my finger onto the pad and lightly rubbed the ink over the raised texture of the tissue paper to highlight the faux silk. it's subtle and looks very cool but is almost impossible to capture in a photo. all black edges have a touch of gold ink, dtp.
thanks for looking!

Oooooo! I feel your frustration with getting just the right photograph. Been there, done that! This is gorgeous, Deb! I can see the faux silk and gold, and I love the pop of red!

Very striking and as someone already said...dramatic. You're very resourceful with getting the red piece w/o tissue paper. It's really lovely.
