My friend Brita sent quite a few of us all the materials for this card challenge, and boy, did we have lots of choices! I had a tough time deciding what images and colors to use, but I FINALLY came up with this card with a detachable bookmark.
I was supposed to make my challenge card the traditional card size, because Brita even sent a SASE, but I wanted to include too many things for it to fit that size card.
I used True Thyme for the background with Basic Black as the next layer. Brita had sent the leaf branch already stamped on the Thyme paper, and I wanted to make that into a mosaic look. The tiny rhinestones Brita sent cut apart to make sparkly trees!
On the other half of the card, I was dying to try out my new Ornare corner template, and I used Vintage Violet for that side. The blossom branch is colored with Prismas and OMS and has a few gems to make it sparkly. The word window is punched out of the Violet paper and *embrace life* is layered underneath. The punched-out paper is at the bottom with more rhinestones on it. I had a little piece of the Thyme tree branch paper left, so I layered on top of the Violet, and topped it off with the VV ribbon.
All in all, a pretty nice card. BUT...I wanted to use the long blossom image Brita sent ALSO, which is where the bookmark idea was born. We were only allowed to use what Brita sent, and she had fastened all the paper together with a paper clip, so I painted it with black acrylic paint and used it to hold the bookmark on. The bookmark is colored with Prismas and OMS and is layered with Vintage Violet and my last piece of branch-stamped Thyme. I edged both the Vanilla pieces with Lovely Lilac and Vintage Violet ink. I used my last inches of VV ribbon to make a knot on the stem and as the topper on the bookmark. (Had to *fasten it* with glue dots, because there wasn't enough left to tie it, etc.)
A FUN project- thanks, Brita!

Fabulous card! I really like the windowpane effect on the left side. And it looks as if I might have to break down and get one of those Ornare piercing tools.
