My son's first "tool bench" for his 2nd birthday. I'm not overly happy with this layout. I think the patterned paper is too overpowering! I'm the WORST when it comes to patterned paper! :P

too funny, before I read your description I was thinking "I love how you used the patterned paper in the border"!!! LOL I don't think it's overpowering at all.
An idea I read once was to use vellum over a pattern if you want to soften it but keep the colors & basic idea of it showing...I don't think you need that on this layout but I thought I'd share that as a general idea because it sure has saved me a few times ; 0

thanks guys! I LOVE the look of patterned paper but just can't seem to pull off the mixing of it like others do. So, I'm glad you think this looks ok!! I'm slowing thinking outside of my scrapbooking box! Thanks for commenting!
