I got the curve idea from a book with layout sketches. Then I rooted around in cupboards and closets until I found a tool from waaaay back in my college days when I took an engineering drawing class. It's kind of heavy with a blue coating and is bendy yet always lays flat on the paper and lets you draw nice smooth curves. I think it's from Staedler but I have no idea what it's actually called. I call it *the blue bendy thing*! Anyway, it was a great help on this card.
I used my new stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the wavy stitches border. That's a new tool for me and I'm already wondering how I got along without it. The berry has crystal effects on it which doesn't scan well, and I also added just a hint of glitter to the butterfly.
I'm really happy with the 4th of July feel that I ended up with.
