When I looked at the Frank Lloyd Wright inspiration piece of a stained glass window with a saguaro cactus, I was inspired just by the cactus. I love working with Southwestern images, and so I pulled out this doorway image by Terry Medaris. Who knows...maybe FLW was inspired by Southwestern architecture.
The image is stamped on Bristol smooth paper with black Stazon. The entire image is colored with Prismacolor pencils only (no OMS). I used Terry Medaris' sample coloring as a guide so that I could work on shading and blending. One piece of the matting was stamped with linen using Distress Tea Dye ink. One piece of the matting was run through the Cuttlebug for texture.
Thanks for a great challenge, and the excuse to pull out one of my favorite images.
