This is the card I made for Kmensley's "Ode to Summer" swap. We were to pick something that meant "summer" to us, and I cannot think of anything better than sitting in a beach chair under an umbrella just relaxing and maybe reading a book!
I used my friend's Script Texture EF on the Brocade Blue layer (for the "reading a book" part) and stamped the beach chair image in Night of Navy on blue parchment cardstock. I tore vellum rectangles, and popped up those and the main image layers for a little depth. I finished by adding a sheer blue-gray ribbon. I left the inside Night of Navy, because I think it looks amazing to use a white or silver gel pen on dark colors! I just hope my recipients agree . . .
I like the color combo and hope that the swap recipients like their cards. It was a really fun and chatty group of players, too; I couldn't keep up! ;-)
Thanks for looking! What do you think?

Just lovely! I'm all for an 'ode to summer' as it is really cool around here again! I love the color, the script embossing and the way the ribbon reflects the vellum.

I was blessed to receive one of these in the swap and it's just gorgeous in person! The layering and colors work so well together and that lil spot of vellum just really pops - well done! It's beautiful!!
