This is for a group of us who have a little fun with our challenges. This weeks challenge was to make a RAK card for someone on a list of four names chosen from the RAK forum. I however, recieved special dispensation this week as I had 5 cards to make for raising money for Cancer.
My magolia girl ( especially made for cancer recognition) - has a ribbon that is coloured in lime green.
Sometimes it troubles me that we only ever see pink associated with Cancer - and images of women... because breast cancer/ and women's cancers are but one of the many types on Cancer's that afflict and sometimes kill people.
This is my female version of my non hodgkins lymphoma card - as after all, women get it too.
Lime Green is the colour that represents Lymphoma, a blood cancer which took my dad's life a year ago.. over a period of 2 years.

I have never heard any of this before. I too have always wondered why pink was the chosen color for cancer. Prayers and hugs for your loss. Losing a parent is so tough.
Love your card. She is so cute. The ribbon looks great. What a great way to honor your dad's illness. The dp you used is terrific. Thanks so much for sharing a great story and a wonderful card.

What a sweet, sweet card!! This image is adorable! Thanks Deb for informing me on this color use for lymphoma! I didn't know that!!! You are a *gem* for making all these cards for such a good cause ... I'm sure they will all be WELL received. Debzi- you are on a roll for a wonderful cause! What a blessing this will be, and what a tribute to your dad- using your gift to bless others! Your coloring is fabulous. Did you paper piece the wrap on the flowers? Lovely card Yakky! LYMI

This is beautiful! I love those roses! On this card, I will take them as a 'congratulations for beating cancer' bouquet! Fantastic image and, again, cute use of the stickles!
Deborah, this is just so sweet! Thank you for letting us know about the meaning of lime green in regards to cancer. This will bring a smile to someone. Hope you are finding peace about your loss.
