This is my first attempt at making a dahlia fold card. I must have did something wrong because there are spaces in between each petal? I think it was the size of the circle punch, might have been too small. Anyways, this is it! Thanks for looking

It's not bad for the first attempt. I've found that practice makes perfect. The folds need to be pretty precise. When you bring the smaller flaps together, if they don't touch there, they won't touch in the whole blossom. And the placing of each folded unit can be a little touchy. Just keep at it. You'll get it.

I agree, you have a great start! Make sure the flaps aren't hanging over anywhere, because that makes the section more narrow. Adjust the folds so they only lay on top of the one below (not hang over), and you will find each section is a teeny bit wider with no gaps.
