I used the old Lovely as a Tree for this prototype. the little leaves are on vellum with the tree image watercolored, cut out and raised on dimensional stickers. Ribbon is the new twill. I know it could use some eyelets in the corners of the confetti, but I want to keep it simple so thinking of punching decorative holes so the brown shows through. I am playing with this as a masculine card for convention, so feel free to give feedback!

Replying to your post in the constructive comment thread.- I'm thinking I like your card just the way it is. Sometimes less is more. You could add some brads in each corner, eyelets, or maybe even paper piercing like you said, but if your looking to keep it simple I would leave it the way it is. Beautiful card and I really like your stamped tree image. TFS!

Hi Vee,
My suggestion would be to do the tree directly on the confetti rectangle. If you really want to cut it out, then the cut edges need some color -- sponging with ink.
IF you cut it out don't add any brads. If you do the tree on the rectangle, then brads would be good.

I tend to agree with Garnet! This image, cut out like that, kind of leaves me lukewarm. If you stamp it directly, you could add some brads or eyelets but I would consider a corner punch (like ticket punch) or piercing.
Other than the extra layer, I like the card very much! It's simple, masculine and very pretty!

Oops I did forget to sponge the edges. I gave this one away as I decided I didn't like it. The original was with butterflies and organdy ribbon (which SU! doesn't carry any more:() Back to the drawing board! Thanks Ladies.

Coming here from the constructive comment thread - I agree with Garnet about stamping directly on the vellum layer. I think it might also help polish it a bit more to tie the ribbon around just the vellum layer and adhere it so it looks very clean.
