I don't know if I think of Christmas just because I know the brown organdy bow is left over from last year's Christmas cards - maybe the red and green too.
Anyway, the bow has been in a box on my table since last Christmas. The red oval is left from the aperture of a Magic Card which I made last month for my nephew. I'd been stacking it up with the brown scallop circle and the red flower for a few weeks now, without ever getting anywhere. So I added some punched leaves, (veins done with clear Sakura Stardust), and little dots around the edge first with a brown marker and then more Stardust. It still looked a bit empty, so I stuck some marabou feathers behind. That looked better, but then as soon as I put it on the background card, you couldn't see the feathers anymore. So with more of the green card that was on the desk I cut out a larger oval, mounted the red one on it and trimmed the feathers down. It looked like a pillow fight in here for a while, LOL. The background is a Rhonna Farrer flourish stamped in Brilliance Ivy, and then gone over with Stickles. I am not sure I like it, but my DH did and he's not slow to say when he doesn't. So TFL

I love the mulberry paper on this and the shimmer on the background is awesome! And I love the use of the sakura pen on the leaves. This is such a pretty card!
