There are a couple of people that I write to every month. So I decided that a “month” themed card would be a good idea. I used some things that I’ve had for years and never even used once. i.e.; background papers; die cut for leaves and the felt that I used for the Cuttlebug die cut.
Speaking of the die cut flowerÂ…I made that whole medallion piece, first by layering some die cut circles using the same background papers as on the card. Then I die cut the felt flower. The little loopy thing on top of the felt flower is a needle tatted piece. I saw directions on how to needle tat in a recent Scrap & Stamp magazine so I gave it a try. The very top button of the medallion is actually the head of a tack. DonÂ’t worry, I sheered off the pointy part and just used the shinny brass head.
After getting the card put together, I still thought it looked kind of plain. So, I got out my 2 way glue pen and dotted over the flowers and added some prisma glitter. In real life, it looks pretty sparklyÂ…just the finishing touch it needed.

It is a great idea. They will appreciate the thought you put in this simple but oh so magnificent work. Thanks for displaying it. I can see the sparkles and know that they must be brighter in real life. Great and thoughtful work, so well done. Love it!!!
