My submission for today's challenge to make a flap card. This is my first one- and I love how these turn out! I decided to make one that could be used for a man- so I chose to use shapes as the focal image, and black and white for the colors. The main circle image is cut using susan's diamond folds template found at http://memorykeepsakes.co.uk/acatalo...ng_Tools_.html
I used the template to make the diamond circle cuts and to draw the white pattern along the top of the card. I cut the diamonds out of the white circle (cut with my coluzzle) and placed it on the same size black circle. I traced the inside of the diamond cuts with a white gel pen and lightly sponged the edge of the white circle with black ink. The center of the circle is from paper trey ink's shapes by design set. I stamped it twice on white paper and once on black paper. the outer circle is outlined with a fine sharpie marker. Inside of that on deminsionals is the black square stamped with white pigment ink. The center is cut out of white and is also on deminsionals. The background paper is some misc. black and white polka dot paper I had. I couldn't decide how to keep the card closed, and I finally decided to use a spiral clip to tuck the flap into- I only had metal ones- and that didn't look right, so I did a trick that Markie's mom uses- and colored it black with a sharpie maker (hope she doesn't mind!) I like the look much better!! Whew! that was a lot of typing- Thanks for looking!!
