The challenge was to use the colours black, red and cream as well as to use any sewing items. The one unusual item I used was those little silver snap fasteners, which are sewn to each side of the fabric on an area you want to close like a skirt opening.
The journaling which is on the pull-out tab under the top left photo reads "One day when we were at Grandma and Papa’s and he was watching a hockey game, he told you that it was a hockey game. After that, every time a team sport was on television you would holler “HOCKEY GAME”! Each time it was another sport, we told you what it was and pretty soon you were able to recognize exactly when they were actually playing hockey. Soon after you began to talk about hockey, Dad bought you your very own hockey stick. Every once in awhile you get out your hockey stick and hold it right at the end to steer a ball around the house. The morning we decided to go out to Dickson to watch Darren play hockey, we told you that we were going to watch Darren play hockey. You talked about “play hockey” all the way out there, except when you were sleeping. When we got there, Caitlyn was so excited to see you. She took you out into the spectator area expecting to show you the third period of the game. You figured you should go out onto the ice and “play hockey”. After you got over that, you spent the entire period running around the spectator area, climbing up and down off the bench and climbing up and down the stairs between the seats. By the time Darren was finished, you had completely worn Caitlyn out! February 24, 2008"
