These are small Girls Day gift (side view) that I made for friends and co-workers. Girls Day (March 3rd) is a Japanese holiday and as I live in Hawaii, it's honored here as well. The gifts are fairly small, the front is about 2 3/4" square. Inside is a small Japanese treat (various flavors of mochi). TFL!

Mochi is a Japanese Rice Cake that comes in a variety of forms and flavors, for this gift it's about an 1 inch ball individually wrapped in flavors such as strawberry, lychee, chocolate, pineapple, and mango. It's very sticky to chew, so most people don't seem to eat much of it at a time ;)
At some point, girls' and boys' days were combined into "childrens' day" which is May 5 (the same as the traditional boys' day)...personally, I like to make gifls, so I celebrate them separately for friends and co-workers!
Thanks for asking, aloha, and TFL!
