I did use a cardstock base, and adhered three DPs [tan floral, stripe, dots]. There is a piece of acetate inserted in the front panel, so that the striped DP shows thru from the inside. Sentiment inside is '...they lived happily ever after'.
The cake outline is embossed in black onto beige cs, colored in with white pencil. Icing loops were colored in with shimmer gel pen. Cake was cut out, onto dimensional, and three squares of cs.
Off-white satin ribbon wraps around the card front [to hide the tape line of acetate]. The heart trinket is from jewelry dept with same ribbon tied thru. Attached with glue dot. Sentiment is embossed in black.

Beautiful CASE, and inspiration card, too, from leslierich. Is the acetate just a card front with a tiny flap on the back of the card, or is it a full card's worth of acetate. I'd love to make some of these!

Cardstock base measures 5.5 x 6.75. From the length, score at 4.25 and fold. Now you have the 5.5 x 4.25 card size [with a short front].
The front flap is only 2.5 inches. Run a piece of redliner tape along the edge. Attach a 2 inch width piece of acetate, overlapping .25inch for redline tape, to the base. Now the front also measures 4.25in.
The dotted edge, is a 1in piece of paper - folded in half to measure .5in and taped over the outer edge of the acetate. The paper itself hides its own tape. This leaves about 1.75in of acetate to see thru to the striped paper.
The striped paper on the inside measures 2.0 x 5.5in, and just glued to the right-edge side.
I'm sorry, I am SO bad at typing what I see - but hope this helps,
Valerie

Oh, this is just beautiful! You did it perfectly! I love the colors and papers you chose--so subtle and lovely. The charm, sentiment, cake--everything--wonderful!
