This is what's left of one of those unpainted yardsigns you can get at stores like AC Moore and Michael's. I have had it in my flower bed out front forever. After years of weather, I noticed the paint was wearing off, and figured I would take care of it in the spring. Well, with the last snowfall, the sign fell off the stick! I found it lying in the snow. Poor thing! That winter itch/clean out my craft room thing got me again, and this almost ended up in the trash! I am making over my sewing/craft room, and I am looking for spending little $$$ to get what I want. I have a vintage yardstick collection that has been growing, with no real place to call home. Well, I cleaned up this broken sign, added some hooks, and there you go, a great way to get my collection out in the open! The inspiration for this repurposed sign came from some sunflower scrapbook paper I found in my stash. I have included a close up of the made-over sign to show detail. Please see my gallery for other projects inspired by this really pretty scrapbook paper!

Super idea. I have never heard of anyone collecting yard sticks. But I must admit I have 2 very old ones myself. But good for you and good for the sign - now it has another purpose. Here in Canada we have to collect metre sticks, hahah
