For today's sketch challenge. I definitely had to pull a nancyruth and add the details late! We have about 7" of snow on the ground and the roads are a mess! I knew I would never make it to work on time.
Okay, here's the details. I needed a sympathy card for a man who lost his wife and grandson in a terrible storm in Kentucky. I wanted to use Lovely as a Tree, as I think this is such a peaceful set for a sympathy card. Normally I would have made the tree the main point of the card, but today's challenge made that not a possibility. I am thrilled with how it turned out! I really like that the sentiment is the main point, since that is really what is the most important on this card.
I stamped the background using Weathered and then added some of the leaves from Lovely as a Tree over that. I forgot to put the brads on before I adhered that layer, so I cut the backs off and used pop dots to put them on the card. The twill ribbon I have had for years, don't even know where I got it, but I thought it was much more masculine than a ribbon.
TFL and have a wonderful hump day!
