This card was for the VSN Challenge JAN08VSNR which was the last challenge of the night and it was to create a card using on the leftovers laying on your table from the previous challenges. And what a challenge this was! LOL
I am stamping this weekend with my upline and best friend, so we've been putting most of our stuff away after every challenge because we are sharing a table and we both need some room to work.
Plus, I was so tired last night when this challenge came, I couldn't do it. So my friend made her card last night and I decided I would make my card this morning using whatever she didn't use. Wow - that made it even harder! LOL
I looked at the table this morning and wasn't sure how I was going to find enough to make a card, but I was determined to adhere strictly to the rules, so this is my creation.
The only piece of cardstock that was laying out that was really big enough to use as a card base was a piece of silver. There was also a very small scrap of rose red cardstock that had been stamped with the floral background stamp and embossed with iridescent ice that was leftover from the same card I had previously used the silver cardstock for. This was the card that the scraps were leftover from: It's all about BLING! by stampin' andrea at Splitcoaststampers
The only stamp set on the table was Polka Dots and Paisley, which my upline had used for the hat challenge - this was the card she used that stamp set on: Beanie by kandicejo at Splitcoaststampers
The only ink on the table was a versamark pad, a classic ink basic gray pad (not sure why that was on the table - we must have pulled it out for something and never used it), and 5 markers (which didn't go at all with the scraps of cardstock I had laying out - of course! LOL).
I also had a photo corner punch, the iridescent ice embossing powder, some dimensionals, and the heat tool. That was about it!
I was sifting through the trash that was on the table, because I knew the very small scraps of rose red that I had were definitely NOT enough to make a card - I had no idea what else I could use. Then it struck me - use the trash! We had Hershey's Chocolate wrappers laying on the table!
What could be more perfect than roses and chocolate for Valentine's Day? I think the sentiment "Find joy in the little things" went perfectly!
So, I inked the words in versamark, then in basic gray, and embossed with iridescent ice embossing powder and popped it up on dimensionals over some photo corners punched out of the very last scrap of rose red cardstock I had.
And that is how I made my creation! I had so much fun doing this! Thanks so much for this FUN, FUN, FUN challenge!

I LOVE it, Andrea! I think your card captures the spirit of this challenge PERFECTLY! The candy bar wrapper and the sparkle tie into the Girls Night Out theme really well. The description of your experience making this card cracked me up. So much for sharing it. I'm glad you partied with us this weekend!
