I was checking out Beate's blog and decided to give her weekend sketch challenge a try WSC29.
Her card was made using an interesting technique that uses glue stick and tissue paper. It reminded me of an attempt I had made a long time ago but with white glue and tissue paper so I decided to pull it out of my "Save and Use Later" box.
To make the main image panel, I took a piece of white tissue paper and stamped the fern image and some other shapes in Old Olive ink. Then I crumpled it up. Next, I covered a piece of white cardstock with a layer of white glue. I then gently and carefully smoothed the tissue paper over the gluey cardstock. The wetness of the glue makes the image "smoosh" and many crinkles remain in the tissue paper making for an interesting end result. {At least I think this is how I made it...I'm pretty sure the technique is from Beate herself either on her blog or in the Resources here at SCS}
The rest of the card is really pretty straight forward!! I am really into buttons these days!! And, River Rock too!! I really like it paired with Old Olive!!

Beautiful card! I love the color combo.
We don't have the tutorial on SCS yet, but it will be next weeks tutorial. The technique is called Faux Silk.
Thanks for playing with the sketch. Hugs and smiles
