The main image is stamped on vellum in basic grey, then watercolored with markers. The "sunset" is sponged onto the card. All coloring was done on the back side of the vellum.
The "sand" is sahara sand cardstock, gently separated into two layers (to reveal the inside of the cardstock - which has a suede-like feel and appearance). One layer is on top of the vellum, the other is underneath. Gives a great "island" feel.
This entire layer is placed over soft sky cardstock, then "stapled" with the sahara sand border. I know it sounds complicated but it's really quite easy and fun.
