DH and I have been searching for the perfect tree topper for years. Yesterday I came across these ornaments: designer paper star by radcowgirl at Splitcoaststampers (she lists where she found the tutorial in one of the comments).
Per the tutorial's instructions, they are WAY too big for my tree, but I thought it would be just the right size for a tree topper. I attached the snowflake to a tp roll wrapped in coordinating DSP with staples. I am thrilled with the result!

So glad to see this, I was wondering if it'd work as a tree topper. My DH and I have a tree for the first time in 7 years and of course, no topper yet...this will be perfect!
Yours is GORGEOUS!!!

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for the kind comments. To answer a few questions, I did use the 6x6 squares just like the tutorial. The finished project is probably about 15 inches in diameter, maybe a little more, but regardless, it's HUGE. I made another one with 4 1/2 inch squares and the finished project is almost 12 inches, and the 3x3 squares resulted in an 8 inch snowflake. I think it would be difficult to make one with squares much smaller than 3x3 and the end product is still pretty big, so I'm not sure if it would work for the paper trees or not. On my smaller ones I used glue dots to adhere each 'loop' rather than a liquid adhesive, and the smallest loop of the 3 inch squares is pretty small. To find the tutorial go to this blog: http://technostamper.blogspot.com (you'll have to copy and paste in your web browser) and click on 'tutorial' on the right hand side. It is the October 11 tutorial. HTH everyone! Thanks again for looking and for your kind comments!
