A friend asked me to make her some Christmas cards and this will be one of that batch. I was experimenting with the background (Print Pattern with gold leaf pen dots at the diamond intersections), and it didn't suit the card I was making it for. Still, I liked it and wanted to use it and I thought this bold poinsettia image would hold up against the strong background.
For the poinsettia, I embossed it in gold on a cranberry metallic paper and also in gold on bravo burgundy. I cut out the whole metallic flower, and cut up the burgundy one in pieces and attached them behind the metallic flower (large pieces) and on top (small pieces). I added a bit of bravo burgundy marker for highlighting (lowlighting???) on the metalic flower. All that was left was to mount it on dimensionals on a navy panel and add the sentiment.
