Ok......I *never* get to make baby cards, and this one is for a rather adorable new baby, so I wanted to do something special. I opened my little PC sewing machine I bought at least 2 years ago (*rolleyes*), spent over an hour studying how to use it, only to realize I didn't have 4 AA batteries......KIDS!!!.....lol! Then I noticed it only does a straight stitch, and I really wanted x's. Aha! I decided I would pierce holes side-by-side and faux stitch! BUT.....then the bashful blue marker really didn't show up. Hmmmmm........aha! (yea, again) I used to be a cross-stitcher, so I figured why not cross-stitch the border on with some light blue thread! Finally, an idea that worked!!! Had I known I was going to do that, I would not have distressed the edges on the big mat piece, so it would have been more perfectly straight, but hindsight, right? I hope this little guy loves his card! tee hee!

Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.
