Today's color challenge was to use purely pomegranate, kraft, and white. Well, I don't have kraft, so I had to substitute sahara sand (thanks Emily). I really like this color combo, the pomegranate really pops!
Since one of the colors was pomegranate, I had to make a card using my pomegranate satin ribbon! I made a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card. The main panel is sahara sand, and was made using Beate's faux linen technique, which can be found here. Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers
For the strip across the card, I used the emboss resist technique. I used the flourish from Baroque Motifs for the embossing and sponged sahara sand over the whole panel. I used the giga scallop circle and mega circle punches for the main image. I used the Oh, So Lovely set for the image. I stamped the linen bg in sahara sand on the circle (I stamped it off once before applying to the circle, and then stamped the poppies in black stazon. I watercolored the flowers with purely pomegranate and my aqua painter. The scalloped panel is up on mini pop dots. The sentiment is from Happy Harmony and is stamped on the faux linen panel in purely pomegranate. I tied the satin ribbon around the top of the card.
I hope you like my card for today's color challenge and thanks for looking!
