My girlfriends 8yr old daughter is having a Tea Party for her birthday. She asked me to make some invitations for her and she would pay me. This is what I came up with. I started out by getting the inspiration from Sadie Lady. I found my teacup pattern by going online. I printed the teacup pattern to the size of a 4x6. I cut out the teacup pattern onto thin cardboard, and made the template. I scored the paper long ways on Pretty in Pink c/s and folded in half. I put the bottom of the teacup on the fold. Traced and cut out 13 times. I stamped the sentiment on the front of the teacup before I used my CB Textile folder. I used a small hole punch with ribbon to secure the teacup shut, but left enough room for an opening for the insert pullout card. I used my Sizzix Scallop tag punch onto Vellum paper. I stamped the word TEA, used my silver cording, and looped it through the back tying a small knot. It hangs perfectly. The tea tag doesn't really show all that well in the picture, sorry. I also finished the look of the teacup by putting some sheer pink ribbon on the bottom. I embossed the backside flap of the envelope as well.
Insert pullout card:
I had these small note cards that had seashells on them that I got from Michaels clearance for 25 cents. I measured and scored the printed paper against the notecard and added 1/8 inch for the fold. Glued together using the UNU Glue Stick. I stamped "Its A Tea Party" using my CTMH Alphabets clear stamps onto white c/s and had it glue on the front of the mini card. I also added silver cording for the top. The inside of the card reads "You're Invited...for, date, time, place, and RSVP.
I really enjoyed making these for my friend. Now, I have orders to make more of these for my other friends. You can always replace the card for a tea bag too.
Thanks for looking!
