I was completely inspired to pull out this new set after seeing ajallan's adorable card here. I love the non-traditional card size; mine is about 4" x 8.5" so it will fit nicely in a business-sized envelope that I already have on hand. This image is quite large, and I think using a larger card base helps give you the room you need to really embellish it.
I created the row of punched circles by first using the paper piercing tool and template from my crafters' toolkit, then followed up with my handheld punch. They're not perfectly lined, up, but are definately better than if I'd tried to freehand them!
My new favorite color (or should I say non-color?!) is basic gray - I love the extra layer it allows, but it's much more subtle than black.
Finally, I had fun making faux photo corners with a rounded cut-out; I thought this worked with all of the other circular elements going on. I cut a 1.25 x 1.25 square in half, on the diagonal - then lined up my 1" circle punch to give the shape I wanted.
I think I'll be sending this card to FIL for his birthday this week!
