I needed to make a couple of get well/thinking of you cards for some friends and family members so I thought I'd do something with this week's color challenge. I *knew* I'd seen a card very similar to this one somewhere, so I went poking around the gallery and found this one by Kurtis: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Since I changed the color scheme, type of ribbon, and put my white card on a base, I suppose it counts as a Featured Stamper challenge since Kurtis was the first Featured Stamper Your gallery is beautiful, Kurtis!
I stamped the flowers with Basic Black and then watercolored with the Watercolor Wonder Crayons. Then I put an oval mask on top of it and sponged on So Saffron ink. I made two of these and on one I did the Saffron part much too dark, I like it better on this one where it's more delicate (unfortunately I'm stuck with the big shadow on the picture, it was either have the shadow or not be able to see the Saffron oval). I used Rose Red and Old Olive to help shade the flowers. Sentiment stamped with Certainly Celery ink and a Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon to balance it out on the other side. I think that Sincere Salutations must be my most-used stamp set. Thanks for looking!
ETA: The colors just looked so wonky in the scan that I decided to try taking a picture of it instead. I think this looks a little more true-to-life.

This would make an excellent sympathy card as well. The color choice is very soothing - something that is really needed at this time. GOOD JOB!!!
