Roses In Winter Paper Tole Style~thanks to Karen in Australia for this inspiration and original instructions. I changed them a bit, so here's my rendition:
“Roses In Winter”
Paper Tole Style
Kathie McGuire [email protected]
1. Stamp largest rose image in SUÂ’s Pretty In Pink ink. With an aqua brush, make a water line slightly outside of the image. Then, tear on the waterline. Crumple the paper in a ball and then uncrumple. Pinch the edges of the image in slightly for more texture. (You may need to add a bit more water if necessary. It helps to have the cardstock wet when trying to mold and shape it.)
2. Stamp the mid-size rose image in SUÂ’s Positively Pink. Repeat the steps listed in #1.
3. Stamp the small rose image in SUÂ’s Regal Rose ink. Repeat the steps listed in #1. Lastly allow the rose to dry and then proceed on to step 4.
4. Assemble the three pieces together, beginning with the largest rose on the bottom, the mid size rose on top of that, and the smallest rose on the very top. You may adhere the layers together with glue dots OR, I found that using a hot glue gun was much faster and easier. Plus it allowed me to manipulate the depth of the layers~more glue for a higher layer, less for a little bit lower.
5. Stamp the Roses in Winter large leaf with Mellow Moss. Using the same aqua pen technique as described above, then tear out the leaf and crinkle, etc.
6. When the rose is assembled to your liking, take the Regal Rose pad and using a direct-to-paper method, apply ink to the rose. This adds a lovely depth to the flower.
7. Attach the leaves to the roses.
8. With Crystal Effects or a two-way glue pen, apply a line of glue on the roses and leaves anywhere you want glitter to stick. Next, sprinkle on glitter and tap off the excess.
9. Lastly, attach the roses to your paper project with the adhesive of your choice.
