This is my desk I have been in the process of putting together the past few weeks. (from seeing the other post it made me want to post a picture of how mine is looking) I got the target cubes as well. Bought some wood that is white on one side (even though it doesn't show up well in the pictures its the same color as the cubes) it was cut to the exact same size as the pottery barn desk. I got the cube/bookshelve's from Target. We are going to be getting white trim to go around the sides of the wood so you wont see the bare wood. (the stuff you put around kitchen tops) I have two pieces so its extra sturdy. Once I move it into my sb room which is being re-done and finish it I think it will look nice.
Wish I thought of the door idea that would have been much easier to finish. But I still like it all the same.

Love this! My hubby came up with an old kitchen countertop on top of two very study sawhorses. It isn't pretty as this, but it really works and I don't care if I screw up the surface because it cleans easily. It doesn't matter where it comes from or how it is made, it only needs to be functional!

What a great idea; the colors really look great together. This picture inspires me to get started on a fun desk such as yours. You did a wonderful job!
