This is inspired by a card in the June 2003 Rubber Stamper magazine. They refer to this technique as Faux Bleach, but Technique Junkies also featured it as Manila Resist. Basically, it's resist stamping/watercoloring using a manilla file folder instead of cardstock. According to the Rubber Stamper article, manilla file folders have a special coating that allows inks to blend easily. I agree, and I also especially like the more vanilla tone of the resist images with fall colors.
I stamped and clear embossed, then used my watercolor crayons and aqua painter. I also used the Old Olive reinker to intensify the green a little more. The next (and usually last) step was removing the clear EP by ironing over the images with copy paper. But I decided I wanted more texture and richer colors, so I then stamped and embossed over the image with Canvas using Versamark and detail clear EP and rubbed over it with a sponge using Creamy Caramel. Then I trimmed the image and cut into it three panels, which are on dimensionals.
I used the same steps to make the Sincere Salutations and Around the Block sentiments. This card measures 5 x 6 3/4.

Maddy----------> totally speechless! This is the first card I looked at in the new DD gallery, and, Linda, it is truly stunning, and I don't use that word very often. The flow of the design on the 3 panels, the beautifully muted colors, the layers, the entire composition is really, truly, gorgeous. Thank YOU for blessing our lives with your bottomless talent, and filling my gaze with such scrumtious eye candy!
Hugggs! Maddy
