This is what I did last year for Christmas. I called it my Christmas Card Clinic and people could make as many cards as they wanted if they brought their own cardstock and ribbon. I gave them an opportunity to preorder and then had tons of samples. It was way too much work, though, hauling all those stamps and accessories over to my church! This year I'm not doing this!

Jan--out of curiosity, what was the highest # of cards an individual was able to make at this event? I am intrigued, but, as you said, it was an AWFUL LOT of work for you and I can only imagine by looking at all you did! Incredible--lucky ladies they were. I wonder if a modification of this would entice customers? I.E. have a select # of cards, like 8 designs to choose from and send out a photo before hand, telling them all supplies used, and then indicating that for say, a $10-15 fee, they can come use your stamps and inks, but must supply their own paper, adhesive, and embellishments to make as many as they want of the design like like best ....??????

I charged $10 for this event, knocked $5 off with a $25 or more order at the event, and took preorders for cardstock. One woman made 40 to 50 cards right there. She did them VERY simply and whipped right through. And she did get her cardstock from me, so I felt pretty good about that!
Others made something like 5 to 10. I gave out prizes too..had about 7 ladies there and got some orders at the end, so it was worthwhile, but hauling all that stuff just knackered me! Now, if I held this at my house, where I've moved my classes, it would not be as much work, but I don't have the display space to show that many samples and have a place for everyone to stamp too.
This year I will probably do something more like a Stamp a Stack. I need to decide on a date and send out emails, but lately I've felt sort of paralyzed by indecision...somebody, give me a kick in the rear, please!
WOW, that is a lot of work! But I am sure people had a great time!
As far as your stamp a stack, Jan, pick a date, put it on the calender and send out the invites -- deal with the rest when it gets closer. I always find the pressure of a worksop forces me to actally get my butt in gear.
