Teresa was incredibly fortunate to marry a man she deeply loved and now is on the incredibly difficult path of learning to live without him since his death. This week the Tea Potters are sending cards of hope and encouragement to Teresa. Our hostess, Jacqueline, reminded us that it's darkest just before the dawn and encouraged us to use an ombre effect on our cards.
I wanted a soft feminine bg so I ink blended with shades of pink. And because I always love to include butterflies on these types of cards, I embossed the bg with a butterfly EF. Stamped, colored and fussy cut the images, which still needed something, so I cut a thin frame from gray cs. I had intended to use grays on the flower and girl but forgot my intention and pulled out the pink COPICs instead. I was glad I did. My pic isn't great, but trust me when I say the light pink flower looks lovely agains that bg. I didn't want to cover too much of the bg so I printed the sentiment onto velum using Birds of Paradise font. It would have looked better if it was printed directly onto the card, but I didn't think I could manage that with the embossed bg so went with Plan B.
The script isn't captured well here, but it says: "Listen to the flowers as they sing of the coming of Spring and the time to bloom anew again." Right now Teresa is in the Winter of her grief, but Spring will come to her again. I hope our many beautiful cards and caring thoughts will remind her of that for now. And, I hope your day is filled with "Spring" as well. TFL

Wonderfully orchestrated, Debbie. Wonderful and beautiful embossed background, pretty flowers, and fabulous sentiment. Your sweet thoughts behind all this are the best part. Theresa is sure to love this. Hugz

Beautiful card! I love the scene you created. The sweet girl listening to the flower perfectly illustrates your wonderful quote. Butterflies also fit the theme, since they emerge from their cocoons after a long winter. Absolutely lovely.

That saying is just right for Theresa...I'm sure she'll appreciate it. And I see you and Jacqueline both have that butterfly ef...i hadn't seen it before...I love it! It goes really well with the pale pink flowers. What a beautiful card to show you care.

Absolutely gorgeous flower and blended background, and I’m glad you went with a silver frame - works so perfectly with the pinks. Beautiful sentiment as well!

That is a beautiful butterfly embossing folder and looks great in the soft pinks. The flower is beautiful, and then I noticed the little girl - how enchanting.

That sentiment is just so perfect for our recipient and I love the subtle ombre on your butterfly bg. The simple grey frame works nicely as a counterpoint to the pink while letting the embossing shine through.

Your card for Teresa is not only visually stunning but also carries a deeply heartfelt message of hope and encouragement during her time of grief. The soft pink ombre background, combined with the butterfly embossing and delicate images, creates a sense of warmth and comfort. Your sentiment, though not captured perfectly in the photo, beautifully conveys the promise of renewal and brighter days ahead. It's a touching tribute to Teresa's journey through grief, reminding her that spring will come again.
