Right now the library that I use is under siege, and I am not sure how well it is going to come out in the end. It all started with a group who wanted some books reviewed for possible removal or restriction. Then it expanded, then the board chair got very directive, then the library director and four employees who supported him were fired, and now everything is in limbo but there is a long list of books that can't be found if you want to check them out. More employees have resigned...very sad thing.
Today I felt like doing a card expressing my view. I am open to other views - I feel like there are ways to work all this out in a way that would not involve removing books or making them impossible to check out without judgement.
Thanks for the inspiration, Stacy.

Oh my goodness, Nancy,I love this so much! Your art work is outstanding, combining these great images and those mini books! The sentiment is perfect, and mine as well. I am so sorry that your community library is going through all the upheaval; libraries have always been sanctuaries for me, and for SO many people. Exceptional card!

This is so interesting Nancy, I am loving all the little books with that Black Crow hovering closely! I do not mind saying I am against book bans. I don't think the thoughts of one person/group should be allowed to decide what another person/group reads.

I love this, and am so sorry your library is in turmoil. Books being banned or burned in some extreme instances is reminiscent of Nazi Germany. I would go out of my way to purchase each and every banned book and make them available for lending. Our community has many "mini libraries" in front of homes, take a book, leave a book. Mine would be stocked with the banned books.
Wonderful card, Nancy! I like what you did with the books surrounding the main image! It's sad what happening with some libraries! If you don't like a book, don't read it, but someone else might like to!

What an amazing card! I can't imagine all the work that went into that card.
I love to read books! I try to sneak some time in to read when ever I can. I know that some book stores are going out of business... (more because of reading on line...but I just love to browse the books at the stores and the library. This so sad with the library closing.

You certainly have created a masterpiece of a card, Nancy! How frustrating for you and your local community! I do hope common sense prevails in the end!
