Brenda presented us with a lovely tutorial of snowdrops in the snow.
I decided I was going to do just one flower because it would be easier, but I don't have any masking fluid and I drew the flower with the watercolors which was not a good idea. In the end, I had to fix the flower with white gouache paint which I then splattered all over to tone down the super dark blue background.
I think I may make it a sympathy card - it just has that vibe to me.
Thanks for the challenge, Brenda.

Your one snowdrop and stem looks great, Nancy, and I love your snowstorm. I had an old bottle of masking fluid on hand. Had not used it in a long time but will probably use it more when painting white flowers.

I was actually thinking about cutting up one of the trial pieces I have to do just a single bloom so it tickles me that you painted that way, the sky is brilliant it looks like all the stars are shining on this bloom so, I can totally see it being a sympathy card also

Striking with the single snowdrop and the vibrant color of the background. The white gouache is a life saver for me many times. Your shadowing on the bloom is wonderful. Another beautiful painting. TFS

Dramatic and lovely. I have been searching for my masking fluid to give this a try myself. In the end you have a beautiful, solitary blossom against that rich blue background.
