Finally made a card I had in mind for the Inspiration Challenge from two weeks ago. I thought of the tree of life circle die I have as soon as I saw this Klimt painting on the All Paint By Numbers site:
But I was away from home without all my stuff so I had to wait til I got back. It came together pretty much how I envisioned it. Sending it to my mom after our visit.
I knew I wanted to use a collage style paper for the tree to imitate the Klimt look, and I broke out one of my few remaining bigger pieces of an awesome Basic Grey 6x6 pad that I have loved using. I die cut the tree and glued it to another die cut, a test one I did with some other paper that did not look as good, to thicken it up. I then cut a circle from a scrap of blue cardstock and glued the tree to it. I layered together yellow and dark pink scraps on a premade white card. All the papers have some kind of pattern in them, I wanted the look of a lot of texture. I attached the tree circle with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment on yet another pattern paper scrap (this one is the reverse of the dark pink) and die cut with one of the Seasonal Label dies. I glued to the card front and finished with light green gem stickers.
