Basically I took the colors and the floral clusters as my inspiration, but I went for lighter shades in keeping with this week's colors challenge, and took a chance with a die set from Spellbinders that I have had for over a year but had not yet attempted.
I made a base card from light blue cardstock and layered a smaller rectangle of black onto the card front. I die cut the many (many!) pieces of the floral arrangement from light green, light pink, and white cardstock. With the three-layer flowers and the two layer leaves, I needed a darker color to set off the die cuts from the base piece, so I stretched the color scheme a bit by using the same color of cardstock but lightly ink blending with a slightly darker shade. I glued together all the pieces and glued the floral die cut to the card front. I stamped the sentiment in Parakeet Party ink on a white scrap and die cut it using a label die. I die cut a second label from the light green cardstock and cut it in half to provide a bottom layer for the sentiment, gluing the halves behind the white piece and attaching it to the card with foam tape. I added pale green gems to the flower centers.
Sherri, with your distinctive user name, I always notice your batches of uploads and admire them. Congrats on being the Featured Stamper this week!

Very pretty florals here and they look so pretty against that brown background. A truly lovely sympathy card and case.

Now that's a die to try one's patience but what a lovely result! Reminds me of an appliqué quilt pattern. Beautiful card and I can see how you derived your inspiration. TFS

Beautiful die-cut flowers and stems. Good for you trying a die set that was unused. Looks like you nailed it. The colors really pop on the dark background. Well done for both of the challenges!

So pretty and a CASE as well. Thank you for the kind words. I have been known as Oscar in the scrapping world for decades. Been parts of so many companies, and online sites, and have always kept it in one form or another. Very pretty card.
