Teapot Tuesday is using the word CARE. C = Circle, A = Aviary (bird), R = Ribbon, and E = Emboss. I used the colors for this week's color challenge. I had this piece of Crushed Curry embossed for quite a while so I wanted to use it. This is the third idea I started for this card. I thought a bird went well with the leaves, than decided to use a bird die. The Iconic Dies have the bird and branch to place the bird on. I kept changing my mind about the color of the bird, as I cut three of them; I will save the Pecan Pie one for another time.
I placed my layers on a white card base, then I
could see a bit of white after trimming, so I picked up a marker. I have a marker named Pecan and it is a very close match to the Pecan Pie paper, so I covered the white with the Pecan marker. It got too much and bled onto the Pecan Pie paper, so I continued to add it all around. It bled onto the Crumb Cake, so I then took another marker, Chamois, which is a close match to Crumb cake. They now look a bit blotchy in the photo, but are find as they dry. I need to embrace the errors and let it go. I think Marcia will appreciate the card, errors and all.

I always enjoy the floating technique and this looks fun and festive to show off your neat bird die. I know what you mean about cutting several options in a bunch of colors, but I think you went with the right combo here. Your wonderful bird really pops against the bg. Yes, we all need to embrace the errors and I doubt Marcia will see any. She will just see a charming, delightful card of encouragement.

I love the look of the floating technique but haven’t tried it myself yet! Your card looks lovely using this week’s colours and I love the bird on the branch and pretty ribbon!

Beautiful card. I like the different techniques you used. The strips are effective. What a pretty bow. The embossing is a nice touch. Well done for both challenges.
