This is for Stacy's FF23 challenge-make a tag using a different shape instead of a traditional tag shape. I don't have a lot of shaped dies so I used a die that has some decorative detail in the corners, kind of a label die and made this tag into a little card that opens.
I had this scrunched up kraft wrapping paper staring me in the face from the desk and thought it would work well for the faux leather technique. A technique that was a bit different than I expected; I thought it was the one with masking tape. I did use a stylus around the mittens but because I hadn't adhered it yet to the kraft, you can't see that. But because it was scrunched, it picked up the colors of the ink I sponged after I stamped the mittens. Stamped a few more mittens and fussy cut them out, hanging them from the twine. I did tuck in a postage stamp at the top and added a little wooden mitten at the bottom. I think I bought them on Etsy, long ago.
This is also for yesterday's WT, featuring the faux leather. Yes I've watched westerns but I don't much any more. They have to be watched with caution because they don't represent the whole truth about the western settlement of this country. And, in light of the shootings in Maine and elsewhere and gun issues, I didn't think it was a good idea to focus on that. Thanks for the challenges!
