Well, I tried this weeks technique of gold embossing real leaves but no luck. The dry ones were too curled up and the fresh ones didnât let the embossing stay on it. So I fell back on gilding crafty leaves instead. Since I had the flakes out for my most recent card and was already making a mess,I die cut a few smaller leaves and gilded them too for future use. I didnât expect it to be this near in the future but okay.
I trimmed a piece of dark red cardstock to fit the card front and ran it through a cover plate die. I inked the small leaf from Lighthearted Leaves, stamped it off once, and stamped it on dark yellow cardstock, then inked up the sentiment and stamped it over the leaf. I used square dieâs to cut out the sentiment piece and a larger dark orange backing layer, and glued them together and then attached to the card. I had previously made the gilded leaves by using wide double sided tape on cardstock, then die cutting and peeling off the second backing for a sticky side, then applying a mix of gold and copper flakes. I attached these with foam tape.
