I have the pleasure of being your hostess this week. I chose my colors based on an ad we received in the mail from Tommy Bahama. I just loved the colors that were a bit different for the tropical theme of the ad. I thought that the colors weren't obviously tropical and thinking others may be challenged with these colors I offered dessert as adding another color.
Let me just say that I was challenged by the colors and when all was said and done I'm not sure why I didn't use the Smoky Slate (a neutral) as my additional color instead of the Pale Papaya. I think the papaya works but doesn't add much to the card.
The card took me way longer than I had thought but over all I'm pleased with how it came out. I'm often challenged by other team members colors, but I'm usually good with my own! LOL!
I hope you will join us in the challenge this week!

What a lovely tropical card, Jeanne! I love that you took your inspiration from a Tommy Bahama ad, and I love the results! I think the Pale Papaya flowers add a lot of softness and interest. Love the stamped background, the die-cut flowers, and that swooshy edge!

I really enjoyed your colors this week, Jeanne! They seem like such a great bridge between the seasons. The Pale Papaya seems like a pleasant surprise in your mix. It brings emphasis to a cool vs warm color thing that's going on - which is really effective.

Beautiful tropical card. Love, love that curved edge. The die-cut flowers and leaves are fabulous. Great card! Thanks for some awesome colors this week.
