Linda has provided us a lovely tutorial from Paintinghyun. So relazing watching the tutorial - I wanted to watch it several times.
So no pencil again and had to use an ink pen for my sketching which I decided to totally incorporate along with a white gel pen. I bought my watercolor paper from the thrift store and it is the thickest and most textured watercolor paper I have run across. It really wanted to reject my petal painting and my background wash for some reason so I struggled a bit but pressed on. Didn't seem to matter in the end as I like how it came out. Added some threads I saw in another tutorial as I thought they were super cool.
Creativity does take courage - kudos to the watercolor team (and the masters they find) for inspiring us to step out there and try new things.

Thankyou along with the other painters who join us weekly for the challenges. We enjoy seeing what you all create with your paint and brushes. Like your comment about the paper, especially when you are doing a wet on wet technique good paper makes a difference.. Your painting turned out beautifully like always and thanks for adding it in the gallery.

Beautiful Nancy! Your coneflowers are a delight as is the overall design. Yes, the paper makes a difference, but good on you for pressing on. And the sentiment is perfect and so very true. Wonderful work!

I totally love the colors and that you left the trim on the paper too, it totally gives it that I have been stolen from the art book look. the inking adds such a cool extra touch too Nancy. *heart* this
