But my mom did. She was an exceptional cake decorator, and she had a go-to butter cream frosting for her best cakes.
Late '70's, and I'm living in Southern California. I called Mom asking for her recipe (She rarely used one!) and she responded within minutes with a letter and the recipe... incomplete... I found that letter when I went nose down into the cookbook file drawer, trying to find something for Stacy's challenge. Brought tears to my eyes, reading Mom's handwriting!
DO NOT FOLLOW THIS RECIPE! She forgot the unsweetened condensed milk. I guessed about how much... remembering that she just kept adding until it was the right consistency.
I copied what I could, printed it on neenah, stamped and colored.

My mom was a terrible cook, but a great baker. My kids still talk about the cookies she used to make for them. The frosting in your recipe sounds great with the almond. As a Swede, I always have plenty of it on hand!!
