I'm your hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and I'm hoping your holiday cards are all done and in the mail. So now it's on to New Year's Eve and happy wishes for the new year. This week's colors are Basic Black, Metallic Silver and Metallic Gold, and the dessert option is "Happy New Year!"
I watched another amazing video this week by Vicky Papaioannou, and that gave me the idea for this spinner card; I think it's the first one I've ever made. The silver snowflake is suspended inside the circle by a thin silver cord. Before you put it in the envelope, you spin the snowflake over and over, and slide it in. When the recipient opens the card, the snowflake spins and spins. It's really fun!
I generated the greeting on my computer, printed with a laser printer and then ran it through my laminating machine with silver foil. I was amazed how well it turned out!
Happy Holidays to everyone! Please come join us and make a greeting card to welcome in the new year!

This is SO elegant, Barbara! I think I played around with this idea before but I must never have really followed through to get the spinning effect to occur as you open the envelope. Your design in particular would really give an awesome effect with your pretty snowflake.

A spinner card- such a creative idea for a New Years card - and I like the foiling technique I always wondered if a laminating machine would work to foil

All I can say about this design is OH MY GOODNESS! Barbara, this is just gorgeous and the fact the snowflake spins is phenomenal! You would get my pick for the week! Love everything about it! TFS

Beautiful card.
I also have a question. Are you still doing the list of colors, I belive it was called Color Combinations and showed lots of stampin'up colors that could be used together?
I have been looking to find the link and seem to be coming up empty handed. Could you please tell me the link? I had an issue with the color list once before and you were able to help me with it. My email is [email protected].
Thanks in advance.

I don't think I have ever done a spinner card. I love this idea with the snowflake and since I just got some snowflake dies for Christmas it must be fated that I make one! :-) Your card is beautiful. Happy New Year!
