It wasn't until I started playing with the gorgeous colors Barbara chose for us this week that a card started to take shape in my mind. I went back to a tried-and-true SU set from 2002, Watercolor Garden II. The serendipitous nature of this two-step stamping is that no two flowers look exactly the same. I stamped the Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay base flowers after stamping off on scratch paper and then the tops in full ink and added the leaves in Granny Apple Green. I thought she was crazy when she suggested Pumpkin Pie as an option, but when I tried it, wow âe" it popped! I die cut the sentiment from a strip of the printed cardstock that was faux embossed with packing tape for shine. Dry embossed the Bermuda Bay panel with a Painted Texture EF. Added die cut fronds that were sponged with a little extra Granny Apple Green for more depth and added the Pumpkin Pie die cut circle to highlight the word. I would love a sundress in this pattern!! Where will these colors take you??

Faith, I love your custom, hand-made DS paper and the way you cut the greeting from the same paper. The little fronds tied up with twine are the perfect finishing touch.

Beautifully done. Love how you stamped your own DSP. I have not used this set in years. Your card inspires me to find it. Love how you die-cut the greeting from the stamped DSP. Terrific layout. The added leaves and twine look great. Wonderful card.

This certainly does have some happy, tropical vibes going on. I love your idea for faux embossing - I'll have to tuck that one away for future use. Perfect theme for these colors and the twine finishes it off perfectly!
